YO! Sooo, I'm totally geeking out with you here, and I appreciate all your speculation. I've actually been out of the loop on this one as I was away from TV for the last week, but... I gotta give LeBron some props. I agree that he is somewhat over-rated, but he's got to do it all himself. Cleveland coaching works, it seems on defense only. Having seen them play several times, when they get on the offensive side, they give the ball to LeBron and hope it will all work out. And frequently it does. They don't have anyone that actually consistently shoots high percentage shots. He gets double and triple teamed on almost every possession, makes great passes and then his team mates miss completely open looks. I think in time, the triple teams will wear him down, and they won't make it much past the second round, but for now he's fired up. I think before you talk too much more about LeBron you should look at his assist stats (which of course I haven't looked at, but think are really impressive.)

Great post. It's good to hear some excitement about basketball when everyone else I know is all about baseball, especially in "Cardinal Nation." I've obviously been out of it for awhile, last I tuned in the Lakers sucked and I loved that!

JRH, I knew him well, in life, in music, in good humored friendship. Don't forget your guitar man, i'll meet you on the other side with a bag of flutes - or will you be playing a harp, or maybe the devil's harp, the blues harp. AH REBIRTH!!! Somewhere between heaven and earth, somewhere on this west coast soil, I hope to meet you soon and drink some beer and play some music and laugh a little, or a lot.

[...] Another Day in Paradise wrote an interesting post today on Jazz and Rock and Joni and Herbie, oh my!Here’s a quick excerpt … love of both genres, sparked by Herbie Hancock’s recent grammy award for his tribute album to Joni Mitchell, River…. I should think Herbie returns the favor by his grammy-award winning tribute to Joni…. [...]
